Weather forecast & cancellations

Extract of EDTA - NETA Combined Rules 2025/26 Season 8.1 & 8.2 (Tennis SA Metro League Rules 2025-26 season 10.1 & 10.2)

In the event of extreme weather (including but not limited to rain or excessive heat) a message will be placed on the Tennis SA Website Inclement Weather Update by 11:00am on the day of the scheduled match.

Matches will be cancelled when the projected forecast maximum temperature on match day, as issued by the Bureau of Meteorology www.bom.gov.au at 9:00am on the morning of match day, is 37 °C or more at Adelaide. If the said forecast is 36 °C or lower at Adelaide, then the Committee may still cancel matches in the manner set out above.

Additional guideline for hot conditions:

• If the temperature reaches 37.0°C during play (e.g. as per the BOM mobile app for your location), matches in progress should be suspended at the end of the current game.
• New matches must not commence until the temperature drops below 37.0°C.
• If the temperature remains at or above 37.0°C for 90 consecutive minutes, play may be cancelled by an official, team captain, or club representative.
• Teams may also mutually agree to cancel play within that 90-minute period.

Matches on Saturday 16 November were cancelled due to forecast high temperature that did not eventuate (max 35.7°).

Matches on Saturday 25 October were abandoned due to rain.

Matches on Saturday 22 November were abandoned due to rain.

Matches on Saturday 22 February were cancelled due to forecast high temperature that did eventuate (max 38.7°).

Matches on Saturday 15 March were cancelled due to forecast high temperature that did eventuate (max 40.7°).
